FAQ

Are these healthy crockpot soups make-ahead-friendly?

Yep, all of them are. Either make them in the morning, then warm them up when ready to serve, or make them ahead of time and keep them in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer. The one exception is the chicken noodle soup. If making ahead, store without the noodles to avoid them getting too mushy.

Can I make these in an Instant Pot instead?

Totally. Use the pressure cooking setting for roughly one-third of the low crockpot time, then let the pressure release naturally for at least 10 minutes. Most of these soups are hard to overcook, so they are pretty forgiving.

Why are these soups considered healthy?

Well, the term “healthy” changes meaning in the eye of the beholder, but to me, healthy means balanced and full of micronutrients and veggies. Each of these recipes has a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat, among other nutritional benefits.
