I mean, it’s basically an adult Lunchable after all.

Key Ingredients

  • Jammy eggs: Soft-boiled so the yolks are just set and still creamy, these are the main component of the plate and an easy way to add protein.
  • Parmesan cheese: Salty and sharp, Parmesan brings big flavor in a small amount and pairs perfectly with a drizzle of hot honey.
  • Hot honey: Just a little adds sweetness and gentle heat, balancing the richness of the cheese without overpowering the plate. Mike’s Hot Honey is my favorite.
  • Olives: Briny and satisfying, olives add depth and help make the plate feel complete. Use whatever variety you love or already have on hand.
  • Crackers: These bring crunch and add a bit of fiber, too. Whole-grain, seeded, or high-protein options all work well.
  • Fresh fruit: Something crisp and slightly sweet, like strawberries, apple slices, or pear, adds necessary freshness.
  • Pickles: A pop of acidity from pickles or pickled vegetables ties everything together.

How to Make a High-Protein Snack Plate

This is less of a recipe and more of an assembly, but a few small details make all the difference.

Two eggs in a saucepan before boiling, an easy first step for making jammy eggs for a high protein snack plate.

Soft-boil the eggs
Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil. Gently lower the eggs into the water and cook until the yolks are just set but still jammy (about 7 minutes). Transfer immediately to an ice bath, then peel once cool and season with flaky sea salt.

Assemble
Arrange the eggs on a plate and add the Parmesan with a drizzle of hot honey. Fill in the rest of the plate with olives, crackers, fresh fruit, and pickles. Serve right away or store the components separately and assemble when ready.

Tips & Variations

  • Make it higher protein: Add cottage cheese, skyr, or rolled-up deli slices.
  • Low-carb swap: Skip the crackers and use cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, or seed crackers instead.
  • No-cook version: Use pre-boiled eggs or swap in store-bought hard-boiled eggs if you’re really short on time.
  • Switch up the cheese: Try aged cheddar, pecorino, or whatever you have on hand.
  • Change the sweet-savory balance: Use regular honey, chili crisp, or a drizzle of olive oil instead of hot honey.
  • Make it seasonal: Rotate the fruit based on what’s in season or what needs using up in the fridge.

Storage & Meal Prep

Boil the eggs in advance and store them unpeeled in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Keep the remaining components stored separately in airtight containers so everything stays fresh and crisp.

When you’re ready to eat, assemble the plate just before serving. This keeps the crackers crunchy, the fruit fresh, and the plate from feeling soggy or tired.

If you’re meal prepping for the week, this works especially well as a mix-and-match lunch, where you can vary the fruit, pickles, or crackers without redoing the protein base.
