Fall is here and it’s time to embark on a Fall self care challenge.
September is National Self-Care Awareness Month, so it’s the perfect time to make this 31-day commitment to the most important person in your life…you!
It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of life. We all have so many balls in the air and the juggling act alone is a full-time job.
But with the change of seasons, it’s the perfect time of year to do some introspection and focus on filling our own cups.
Self care is the practice of applying the same care we do for others to ourselves. It’s a time to check-in, nurture hobbies, spend time alone, and bring peace and rejuvenation in our day-to-day lives.
What Is Self Care?
Self care has become a popular buzz term in the past couple of years. As awareness around mental health and mindfulness has increased, we’ve learned more and more about the importance of taking care of ourselves.
After all, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Self care is the practice of giving back care to yourself and deepening your relationship with you.
It means so many things to so many different people because only you know what makes you feel refreshed and replenished. There is no one-size-fits all when it comes to self care.
Why Should You Do It?
In order to be the best possible version of you, you need to take care of yourself so that you are filled with love, energy, and support to share with those around you.
Self care is a great way to replenish our reserves as the stressors of daily lives deplete us. It can be hard to stay committed to “me time,” but it’s an important skill to develop so that you can show up as your best each and every day.
As the colder, darker months roll in, it’s extra important to take care of ourselves. The seasonal changes can affect our mood and energy levels and even cause seasonal affective disorder in some.
Fall brings a wonderful feeling of coziness and dedicating time to self care aligns with our natural rhythms of slowing down and turning inward this time of year.
How To Complete this Fall Self Care Challenge
We know that finding the time for self care can be a challenge so we’ve done our best to make the rest as easy as humanly possible.
We’ve created a 31-day day challenge with one fall-themed self care activity for each day.
So all you have to do is block the time in your calendar to complete each day’s activity. We’ve even created a printable PDF so that you can hang up all the challenges somewhere that will be your daily reminder.
We’ve designed the challenge for the month of October, but if you’re doing it another time, feel free to swap activities around so they fit your schedule.
