150 Hobbies For Women In Their 30s
I am, by my own appointment, the queen of hobbies. I have started an embarrassing number of the 150 on this list.
Pottery. Painting. Horseback riding. Tennis. A film camera I used less than 10 times. Two cross-stitch kits currently living in a drawer, one of them still in its packaging.
I love starting a new project. If I am honest, I love the stocking up almost as much as the hobby itself: the new tools and the good materials and the tidy little kit for a thing I have not yet learned to do. There is a cupboard in my house that is shameful evidence of this.
For years I thought that made me flaky, but I’ve slowly come to terms with it. Trying something and deciding it is not for you is okay, and there is no way to find that out from the outside. The two hobbies I have actually kept are ones I would never have picked for myself.
So here are 150 hobbies for women in their 30s, sorted into eight categories so you can skim to the part of your life that currently has room in it. Some of these I still do. Some lasted a fortnight. Every one was worth starting.

The ones that stick are almost never the ones you expect. Which is the argument for trying more of them rather than agonising over choosing the right one first.
So which are you starting? Tell me in the comments. I want to hear which ones you have already quit, too.
Happy hobbying,
